Finding old thing..

Well, I guess its time for an update on the multipurpose room. Yes, It is still coming along.
I have really been amazed by the whole process. I am actually have a lot of fun, and discovering a lot about myself in the process.

I got the fish tank moved to Elijah's room. It looks great. I should have moved it a long time ago.  They get to swim in all the major oceans.

I love the openness that room now has. It is a joy to be in there sewing. When I organized the closet, I found so much fabric that I had forgotten I even had. It has been so much fun to be creative again. I had so much cool pillow fabric. Here is a sneak peek at what is coming..

I have realized I have a lot of great pieces. They were just hidden and  needed me to find them again; reusing pieces in ways I had never thought to use them before. I hope you are having a similar surprisingly wonderful experience.

The Dentist

My little man had to have a cavity filled this morning. He was so brave. The dentist and assistant said they would not have another patient that good for the rest of the day. He sat so still! Near the end they gave him a mirror and he watched the doctor finish the filling. Not one tear. Not one flinch. (even with the shots) I am so proud!

He wanted to show you his filling. Its on your right.

There's my smile! Sort of....

The Kitchen

Here are before and after of my kitchen. I love it. It is beautiful, and it functions perfectly.

Floor shopping with the cousins!

We found a TV with a cartoon playing! Yeah!

Four weeks of hard work, and lots of help from friends and family.

Day 13

I have been working hard on the closet. I Pulled things out, sorted them, put likes with likes, and then decided the best place to put them back. It went a lot faster than I had expected. I have not painted yet, but when I do, it will certainly be a lot easier. I may try to paint on Saturday. I will save the pictures for after I paint. I did discover that the shutters (the ones I love, that keep coming up, that I have a hundred different ideas for) are a perfect fit for the closet door! Here is what I am going to do. And by I, I mean Quentin.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

I am very thoughtful today. I was just thinking of all the people who have come before us who have suffered extreme persecution so that my blended family could live comfortably in peace.

Thank you. I am very grateful!

The new beds. Made by Quentin and the kids... I am in love.

One step closer to a finished room.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

I took out the antique mirror that was in the girls room. Now they have nothing... That's no good.
I am turning to Quentin for inspiration. Yes, Quentin. He is really good at finding cool industrial pieces.

This is the mirror in our bedroom. Yep! A rear view mirror out of an old school bus. Ah the memories....
(Yes, I am wearing my Duke sweatshirt. Poor guys lost last night.)

I love it! I am sure he can come up with something equally as fun for his princesses.

Holding Back

It is a lot harder to hold myself back than I thought it would be. I want to stop everything I am supposed to be doing and just finish this room! I have tasted a little of what the room will feel like, and I want to see it done!
But alas, I have a lot of work to do. My month is pretty busy with sewing projects for other people, school, and many other things. So, I am sticking with my plan.  A little bit every day.
   * I have decided what to do with the  girls beds. (I am keeping the beds a surprise until the  end).
   I am dreaming of lighting!
IKEA PS MASKROS Pendant lamp Diameter: 32 " Cord length: 71 " Diameter: 80 cm Cord length: 180 cm
I fell in love with this light the last time I was at Ikea. I am still loving it!

I Did it!

I am a happy girl!

I don't know if this is where everything will stay, but is it sorted and back in the room.

Here's how it went.

I brought all the fabric that I needed to sort to the living room.

Almost forgot the trunk!

Leftover containers. I am feeling pretty good. All of that is gone from the closet!

Sorting the fabric can officially be checked off the list!

Have a great Weekend.
